India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka are the three subcontinent countries where 2011 world cup cricket is being organized this year. In the current ICC world cup tournament, India are hot favorite among all the teams. India became the favorite to win this time edition of World Cup as our team has potential to lift the cup. Each and every TV channels both Indian and abroad are putting the ‘Men in Blues’ the champion. After 1983 when India went to win its only World Cup under the captaincy of great Kapil Dev, this bunch of talented cricketers under captaincy of MS Dhoni will surely make history. Team India campaign began on 19th February against Bangladesh in the first match in Dhaka.India got victory against Bangladesh by 87 runs. For this reason, most people thought India as favorite in the match against England. Playing in Bengaluru on 27th February,2011 the team led by MS Dhoni was unable to get victory against English. But they also did not have to be defeated. They had to become pleased with draw. One could easily understand a drawn match in football where drawing a match is a common thing, but in cricket draw is a rarity. Before this match there were only 4 such occasions were a cricket match was being drawn. A cricket match drawn means that this must surely be competitive match. On 27th February, the same thing has happened. Even before the first ball being bowled one can easily sense an excitement and enthusiasm for the game. When Sachin hit a century against the English pace attack of James Anderson, Ajmal Shahzad ,Tim Bresnan and spinner Graeme Swann Andrew Strauss every one thught that this match will be one sided match win for the Indians. But, when England started their 2nd Innings their captain Andrew Strauss also made century and crossed Sachin with ease. In that high voltage match, India could only manage a total of 338 runs losing all the wickets depending on the batsmen Tendulkar (120 runs), Yuvraj (58) and Gambhir (51) and sliding from a confortable position of 3-236 in the 38th over to 338 all out in 49.5 overs .Making the Sachin’s century as simple Strauss, the captain of England scored 158 runs and changed the fate of the game making a mockery of the Indian bowling attack. A solid support from Y.
